Make It Right With STS9

theneworleansmakeitrightremixes_200-150x150Northern California based band STS9, also known as Sound Tribe Sector 9, has released a new album Peaceblaster: The New Orleans Make it Right Remixes. Available online with their digital label 1320 records, all of the proceeds will go toward The Make it Right Foundation to rebuild New Orleans.

The album is a blend of djs, bands, and producers remixing STS9’s latest original album Peaceblaster…, including Pretty Lights, The Glitch Mob, Count Bass D, Richard Devine, Eskmo, Alex B, Ronald Jenkees, and many more. All of the artists, as well as a majority of those involved in the behind the scenes process, featured on the album donated their contribution.

STS9 chose the Make it Right Foundation, Brad Pitt’s charity organization dedicated to rebuilding the devastated Lower 9th Ward of New Orleans, as the sole beneficiary of their record. In addition to all Peaceblaster: Remixes proceeds, the band will also donate $1 for every STS9 concert ticket sold in 2009, as well as any money made during charity raffles and other fundraising events. The goal of the band is to raise enough money to build a house.

Raising money and giving back to communities has long been a part of the STS9 tradition. Using their growing fan base to unite for a cause, the band has raised over $150,000 in the past two years to benefit charities including Rock Against Cancer, Make It Right Foundation, Yellow Ribbon Fund, Conscious Alliance, Global Education Fund, New Orleans Area Habitat for Humanity, Mariposa's Art, Headcount, and Samaritan House.

STS9 will be on the road this summer, performing main stage at high profile festivals including Lollapalooza, Rothbury, Summerfest and Austin City Limits. They will also host events in Colorado and Atlanta, as well as perform at multiple local venues. Their album Peaceblaster: The New Orleans Make it Right Remixes is available online via ITunes, or through 1320 Records Digital Delivery Store.
