trulife Rapper Tru life, (Robert Rosado), was arrested Monday for the murder of Christopher Guerrero, 20, and the stabbing of Jason Grey, age 27.

Rosado was signed four years ago to a multi-million dollar deal by Roc-a-Fella, the label of hip-hop mogul Jay-Z.

After willingly turning himself into the police, Rosado has pleaded not guilty to the charges of second-degree murder and gang assault.

Before his arrest, Rosado was one of the hip-hop world's fastest rising stars, having signed a multi-million dollar deal with Jay-Z's Roc-a-Fella Records.

Since Mr. Rosado’s arrest, his brother Marcus, the alleged accomplice, has also turned himself in and now faces similar charges.

The deadly attack occurred at 9:30 A.M. in the lobby of Mr. Guerrero’s east side apartment.  According to police, the conflict began earlier that morning in an all out brawl in front of Club Pacha, where Michael Slater, a suspected drug dealer, was shot dead.  Police believe that this was an act of retaliation.   According to the New York Times, Mr. Guerrero died from injuries to his internal organs and loss of blood.  Mr. Grey has survived the injuries but remains in critical condition.

In a New York Times interview Robert Rosado’s lawyer stated his client was “not guilty of any of the charges brought against him.  He is an extremely talented artist, and I am confident that he will be vindicated in court.”  In addition, Marcus Rosado’s lawyer, Gino Josh Singer, explained his client’s behavior stating Marcus “surrendered this morning because he is not guilty of the crimes he is being charged with, and, when the facts are revealed, his innocence will be established.”

Robert Rosado is currently being held at Riker’s Island without bail.

the-screamA robber responsible for abetting the theft of the famous painting “The Scream” and “Madonna” was convicted for the crime on Monday, five years after the paintings were stolen from their display in Oslo, Norway.

Bjoern Hoen, who provided the escape vehicle for the armed robbers, was sentenced to two and a half years in prison by the Oslo Court of Appeals. His sentence was reduced from eight and a half years as he apparently did not know the famous paintings would be the target of the crime. Hoen will also not be financially responsible for damages that occurred to the paintings- “The Scream” was significantly scratched and stained during the 2004 heist.

The unguarded paintings were stolen from the museum in 2004 by armed robbers Petter Tharaldsen and Stian Skjold, both of whom are currently serving sentences. The paintings were recovered in 2006, and put on display for five days before undergoing restoration. Both Tharaldsen and Skjold were ordered to pay for the estimated damages.

“The Scream,” featuring an anguished figure in front of a red sky, is the most famous of the recovered paintings by Norwegian expressionist Edvard Munch. The series has grown more popular in years thanks to popular artist Andy Warhol’s silk screening of the image and as the inspiration for the famous “Scream” Halloween mask in the Wes Craven horror movies.

The Munch Museum robbery was the second high profile theft of the series, following a 1994 robbery from the National Gallery. Both paintings are now back on display.

Despite poor reviews, Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen still managed to dominate the box office after its first showing last Thursday at midnight.

transformers2Michael Bay’s newest creation, starring Shia LeBeouf and Megan Fox, grossed an estimated $60.6 million on its opening day alone. The film is set to shoot even higher up on the number charts, and, depending on the loyalty of its fan base and its ability to sway in new viewers, could even find itself in the record books by the end of this week.

One of those records is potentially becoming the second biggest opening film in cinematic history. After its estimated $60.6 million opening day, the film is believed to have grossed $104.8 million by that Saturday alone. And, if numbers continue to surge, Revenge of the Fallen is projected to hit the $200 million mark in just five days.

The only other film to reach those kinds of numbers that fast was last summer’s blockbuster The Dark Knight, which grossed a staggering $203.5 million in just five days. Although upcoming competition like Fourth of July weekend’s Ice Age III and the mega-anticipated Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince, which is on schedule to open in a couple of weeks, will certainly rock Revenge of the Fallen’s numbers, there seems to be no end in sight for how much destruction this film is capable of.
